Empowered, CONFIDENT, Successful, Happy, HEALTHY, CREATIVE KIDS!
Who doesn’t? But something always seems to get in the way. You get frustrated trying to help your child, and sometimes it either doesn’t work or it makes the situation worse. The sense of helplessness and overwhelm can make you feel alone, underskilled and ...let’s face it, at a loss for what to do. For example, If your child:
This can leave you feeling:
And even wondering if you have what it takes to raise a good kid.
You are not alone!
I know, I’ve been there...as a Principal who has worked in schools for over a decade, I’ve worked with struggling kids experiencing social, emotional, behavioral and/or academic challenges. Here’s what I found; kids really do want to do well, thrive, be happy and feel connected but need help processing. As soon as I started using this collaborative problem solving process, I saw successful results unlike any I’d seen before.
Kids are often misunderstood. I felt misunderstood as a kid. I got in trouble as a kid and thought I was bad. It hurt my self-esteem and as a result I lacked confidence. At times, as a Mom, you think you know why your kid did something wrong, or had a meltdown, and you’re quick to judge and draw a conclusion, but this process really gets to the root of the behavior and provides a huge opportunity for your children to be deeply understood. And when that happens your relationship is richer, stronger, and more meaningful.
When we work together through a proven process to solve problems collaboratively everything starts to change.
Let me paint the picture for you...As a kid, I lied, cheated, and stole little things. When I got in trouble, I felt like I was bad. I struggled with low self-esteem and lacked confidence as a kid. The reason I love this collaborative problem solving process is because I was that kid! I remember what it felt like. I wish someone had treated me with empathy and not made me feel like I was bad at my very core. Kids don’t have to grow up this way. That’s why I’ve committed the rest of my life to teaching mom’s this problem solving process - a skill your child will use for the rest of their life! Today, I’m not ashamed of who I was as a kid and I can talk about it, which is why I have a heart for kids struggling with challenging behaviors at home and in school. I want to DEPOWER your thoughts and feelings of SHAME. If I was able to become a successful principal with my doctorate and give families hope, your child can become someone great one day and they will share their story which will inspire millions of people. Why not? Imagine sitting in an audience one day, and your child gets up to speak and they start with “I used to struggle in school, but my mom helped me. When I was a kid I felt like no one liked me and struggled with anxiety, I learned how to overcome it. I’m here today to help you.”
Live the life you want with your kids starting today!
